CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION

SDGs 06

There are still places where people do not have access to clean water and basic hand-washing facilities. Women and girls are responsible for fetching water in areas without access to piped water. A high percentage of people continue to defecate in the open.
40% of the population suffers from water scarcity.
80% of sewage is discharged untreated into rivers or the sea, causing pollution.
1000 children die every day from diseases related to lack of hygiene.

ACTIONS FOR 2030

  • Equal and universal access to safe drinking water.
  • Achieve adequate sanitation and hygiene.
  • Improve water quality by reducing pollution.
